Reflective Narrative:
This course fulfilled MLO5 because it provided us with the cultural and learning strategies we would need to take advantage of our study abroad experience to the fullest. I had never lived in Japan before so there were many things I was nervous about. This class helped to alleviate a lot of those concerns through cultural activities and a panel consisting of students who had just returned from studying abroad in Japan. Through this class, we were also introduced to the LESCANT flickr project (link) and the blog project (link) which we would be working on during our time in Japan. We also had the opportunity to discuss language and personal goals of ours with the class, which ended up being really helpful while I was in Japan.
