Reflective Narrative:
4.1 In JAPN 403: Pre-Capstone, we were taught how to find English scholarly articles relating to our Capstone. We familiarized ourselves with tools such as the CSUMB library database, which would help us find both online articles and hardcopy sources. We then learned how to properly cite those sources in APA style to use them in our Capstone papers and powerpoints. The citations we worked on can be seen in our Final English Capstone paper here.
4.2 In JAPN 404: Advanced Japanese for Presentational Communication, we learned how to better read Japanese source material to understand as much as possible. Through the study of Japanese transitional phrases and more academic phrasing, we became more comfortable with reading Japanese articles. We also familiarized ourselves with how to read Japanese graphs and charts.
4.3 In JAPN 403, we created an online survey in both English and Japanese through Google Forms that we then dispersed to American and Japanese people via social media. These surveys can be found in my Capstone Project page here. After collecting a total of 200 respondents' information, we analyzed all of the data and learned how to present it in a concise and easy to understand manner. We did this through the incorporation of text, images, charts, and graphs.
